About the Poem: I was in the Library Bar in Dublin, Ireland, about midnight, and was struck by the diversity of ethnicities in this one place in time. The more I listened, the more I felt the energy of this place. Despite language and cultural barriers, I realized that we were all united as one people, laughing and enjoying life!
Languages blended in a cacophony of laughterEntwined, interwoven as though there were no barriers
A comforting roar of non-denominational sounds
Rising, lowering, uniting as one voice
Diversity alive, screaming to be heard
Pardoning the world from unspeakable wrongs
Delivered in the name of country,
One voice,
One right,
Instead, in this one place, at night, in a pub
Many voices proclaim love, laughter
No hidden agenda!
